The 2.0 TDI DPF (BKD, CAYC, CFHC, CBBB) sits behind the turbo and blocks with soot when the car does short cold journeys. Symptoms are the amber DPF warning light, failed regeneration codes, and reduced power. We clean off-car in a 5-stage ultrasonic and thermal cycle, flow-test back to spec, and refit with new gaskets. DPF removal is illegal and will fail your MOT, so we do not offer it.
Symptoms and codes
- Amber DPF warning light: soot load above 45 g, needs a forced regen or clean.
- Codes:
P2002(DPF efficiency),P244B(differential pressure),P246F. - Failed forced regen at a dealer: substrate likely blocked, needs off-car clean.
- Reduced power, limp mode: pressure differential above 250 mbar.
- Warning triangle: ash load above 100 g, needs off-car ash removal.
The 5-stage clean
- Remove the DPF from the vehicle (in Birmingham or mobile to you).
- Weigh, log soot and ash load, photograph inlet and outlet faces.
- Ultrasonic bath in alkaline solution, 90 minutes at 65°C.
- Hydro back-flush at 6 bar to lift ash out of the honeycomb.
- Thermal regen at 600°C in the reactor to burn residual soot.
- Flow-test on the rig, target within 5 percent of factory spec.
- Refit with new gaskets, forced regen with VCDS, road test.
